GENTLE SHEPHERD DAYCARE

MEET YOUR PASTOR.

Hello! Welcome to the Ford Street Church Web Site! I am Pastor Steve Holdzkom. I've been the pastor at Ford Street since July of 2009, and I have found this church to be loving, supportive, joyful, fun, spiritual, deep, caring, and welcoming. Before coming to Lapel, I pastored churches in Cedar Lake, Muncie, Monroeville, Peru, Huntington and Anderson--all in Indiana. I am a preacher's kid, and have lived in Castleton (when it was just a small town) Farmersburg (near Terre Haute) and Connersville. I graduated from Connersville High School in 1969, Ball State University in 1973, and Garrett-Evangelical Theological Serminary in 1977. I am in love with my wife Debbie, whom I married in 1976, and we have two grown children, Rebecca and Matthew. I enjoy travelling, (Europe seven times and Israel six times) singing, (with Anderson Symphonic Choir since 1997, as well as the church choirs in all the churches I've pastored) painting, (pictures, not houses) and

reading (especially for fun Tolkien, C. S. Lewis, and J. K. Rowling). I hope you come and experience our hospitality and spirituality at Ford Street. I look forward to meeting you!

Hanging the greens

In just four short weeks, we will celebrate the first Sunday of Advent!  “Hanging of the Greens” is an opportunity to come together as a family and decorate our church for the holiday season.

A sign-up sheet has been placed on the resource table for those who would like to come on Saturday, November 29th at 9:00 am and help “deck the halls”.  (Since Ford Street is hosting the vendor booths for “Christmas in Lapel” the next weekend, we want our church to be extra “festive” and welcoming to the community.)
