Small Words, Big Directions

Sticks and stones may break our bones, but words? They set the direction of our entire lives.

In James 3:1-12, we're reminded that the tongue is like a rudder on a ship or a bit in a horse's mouth - small, but powerful enough to determine where we end up. Our words don't just communicate; they guide, they build, and sometimes they burn down everything in their path.

Here's the truth: we don't have a tongue problem. We have a heart problem. What flows out of our mouths reveals what's really steering our lives. The good news? Jesus doesn't just ask us to try harder. He offers us a new heart, a new spring that produces fresh water instead of salt.
