At Ford Street Church, we believe God is forming us into a community where every person can experience an authentic relationship with Jesus—one that transforms us and the world around us.

We seek to do that through a radically simple invitation in our overly complex world, an invitation:

To Be Known

To Be Loved

To Be Sent

We seek to do that through a radically simple invitation in our overly complex world, an invitation:

To Be Known

To Be Loved

To Be Sent

This is more than a tagline. It’s a way of being. It describes the journey every disciple walks and the environment we want to cultivate as a church. To be known, to be loved, and to be sent is the rhythm of Christian transformation:

How We Bless Others

This vision shapes how we worship, disciple, serve, and walk with the people of Lapel and beyond.

Be Known.

A community where you can be fully seen.

Every human heart longs to be known—to be understood without needing to hide or pretend. In Jesus, God meets this longing with tenderness and truth. We want Ford Street to be a community where you can bring your real story and find that you are seen, heard, and embraced.
Known by God
God sees the whole truth of our lives—our past, our present, and our potential—and calls us by name. God’s knowledge of us is not distant or cold; it is intimate, compassionate, and honest.
To be known by God means we no longer have to perform for love or hide in shame. We can stand in the light of God’s truth and discover that grace is already reaching for us.
Known by Ourselves
Spiritual growth requires self-awareness. As we follow Jesus, we learn to:
  • Name our desires and longings
  • Recognize our strengths and gifts
  • Acknowledge our patterns, wounds, and blind spots
We practice reflection, confession, and examination—not to condemn ourselves, but to understand how grace is meeting us and where God is inviting us to grow.
Known by Others
Community is where isolation ends. We want Ford Street to be a place where:
  • You are known by name and story
  • Relationships are marked by vulnerability and trust
  • People walk with you through both joy and pain
In small groups, ministry teams, and intergenerational relationships, we learn to be real with one another and to receive one another as gifts.

We are shaping a culture where people can say:

"This is a place where I can be real."

We want every person to be able to say:

We want every person to be able to say:

“This is a place where I am loved into wholeness.”

“This is a place where I am loved into wholeness.”

Be Loved.

A community formed by grace.

Being known is only healing if it is paired with love. The Gospel assures us that the God who fully knows us also fully loves us. At Ford Street, we want to be a community where that love is experienced, embodied, and shared.
Loved by God
God’s love is the source of our healing. It is a love that:
  • Comforts the wounded
  • Lifts the weary
  • Convicts the lost
  • Renews the broken
Our identity is not rooted in performance, shame, or accomplishments, but in the unwavering love of God revealed in Jesus. We are learning to live each day from that secure identity.
Learning to Love Ourselves
Because God loves us, we learn to extend compassion to ourselves. We choose:
  • Grace over guilt
  • Progress over perfection
  • Growth over fear
We lay down the burden of trying to earn our worth and instead receive a love that reshapes us from the inside out. As we grow in God’s love, we begin to see ourselves as God sees us—beloved, purposeful, and capable of change.
Loved by Others
Community is essential for spiritual growth. We create spaces where love is expressed through:
  • Support and encouragement
  • Forgiveness and reconciliation
  • Practical care and service
Our all-generations-together ministry model reflects this mutual, multi-directional love. Older and younger, new believers and long-time disciples, learn from and bless one another.

Be Sent.

A community on mission together.

The love we receive from God is never meant to terminate on ourselves. It sends us outward—into our homes, workplaces, neighborhoods, and world—as living expressions of Jesus’ grace.
Sent by God
Every follower of Jesus has a calling.
Mission is not reserved for a select few; it is the everyday life of every disciple. We believe God is already at work in the places we inhabit, and we are invited to join in.
Empowered by the Holy Spirit, we seek to bring hope, healing, and renewal wherever we go
Sent for Others
Our wholeness becomes a gift. Our stories become bridges. Our vocations become mission fields. We are sent to:
  • Love our neighbors
  • Bless our town
  • Serve the vulnerable
  • Embody the good news in the ordinary rhythms of life
Being sent doesn’t always mean going far away. Often, it means becoming more present and attentive right where we already are.
Sent Together
We don’t go alone—we go as a community. At Ford Street, our shared mission is expressed through:
  • Ministry Action Teams that serve within and beyond the church
  • Gathering Grounds and groups that nurture relationships and mission
  • Local partnerships and outreach events that bless Lapel and surrounding areas

We want Ford Street Church to be known
as a community that says:

"We are here for the
sake of others."

Our Hope for Ford Street

We envision a church where

  • People arrive as strangers and become family
  • Grace has room to do its slow, transforming work.
  • People learn to hear God, know themselves, and embrace community.
  • Disciples live as everyday missionaries in Lapel and beyond
  • Our church becomes a greenhouse of spiritual growth and a well of blessing for our town
